This M&E project was part of a scheme to convert an 1883 tobacco warehouse in London's Royal Victoria Docks into 36 high quality apartments. English Heritage were heavily involved and were consulted throughout.
The mechanical services installation included mains cold water and distribution, pre-insulated storage tanks with a multi-storage pump cold-water booster set and associated pipework. Ventilation to the flats was achieved via a central system consisting of roof level extract fans and common duct risers connecting to individual flats. Careful attention was paid to noise breakout issues between flats.
The electrical services consisted of conventional lighting and power installations with a central fire alarm system linked to a smoke extract system.
The flats were completed to a very high standard with emphasis placed on finishes and quality of the exposed services fixed to face brickwork walls.
