Trinity, in partnership with Beard Construction, were tasked to completely refurbish and fit out the lower ground floor of Wakefield House. Following an in-depth value-engineering exercise to meet the client’s budget and initial strip-out works by the main contractor, the M&E element of the works were scheduled to take place over a period of 4 months. At the request of the client and only 5 weeks into the project, the target end date was brought forward by 3 weeks which necessitated a revised implementation schedule against very tight timescales. Adopting Trinity’s "can-do" attitude, project staff set to the task and achieved practical completion by the new target end date.
The mechanical works comprised the installation of 53 cooling only fan coil units with associated ductwork, chilled water pipework and 2 new chilled water pumps. Zehnder radiators were fitted around the perimeter of the building for heating. The newly created computer suite required a full air conditioning and ventilation system.
Associated electrical services included a completely new dimmable lighting scheme, a new Apollo fire alarm system, swipe card door security access systems and installation of a new underfloor electric busbar installation with provision of associated floor boxes.
