Chesterfield Gardens is a Grade II listed building situated in the heart of Mayfair in the West End. The project was won through competitive tender and comprised two main elements; a complete chiller replacement and roof resurfacing works.
Alongside the pipework modifications required for new roof plant and installation of the chiller itself, a key objective for Trinity was to provide both visual and acoustic screening. Due to the building’s listed status and its prime location, the local planning authorities insisted that these objectives were achieved. A new acoustic enclosure was erected around the new equipment, together with a visual screen to hide the roof top chiller from view at ground level.
Alongside the above planning constraints, the building itself was occupied throughout which presented us with working restrictions on noise levels. We were also required to provide a temporary roof cover while the roof resurfacing works were in progress.
